Sep 3, 2011 — Denman, NSW.
Yarrawa Trip. Peter and Christine's place. The first of a number of trips, took place on Saturday September 3.
Eight aircraft of various types turned up at Yarrawa. Six aircraft from the Cessnock club, and two from the Scone club. One aircraft claimed dual status as a member of both clubs.
On arrival we were met by the Marheine family and a group of hang glider pilots ground towing on one of the three strips on the property.
A very pleasant trip with near perfect flying weather and a chance to enjoy a leisurely lunch and a chat.

Seven of the eight aircraft landed on the main (1000m) strip. One other, the first to arrive, mixed it with hang gliders and used a shorter strip.

Lawlor Winery Marathon. Vinyards west of airport. Members please note! A winery marathon is being held from 7am till 1pm on Sunday 17th July. The runners route involves a turn around point located adjacent to the entrance to our premises. This point is being manned by organisers and should not disadvantage our members too much, but please be aware of a large number of runners and pedestrians on the roads on this day.

Gunnedah Recreational Aircraft. Gunnedah Airport. A fly in and "TIF" weekend is being held at Gunnedah Airport to promote recreational flying in the area and we have been invited to attend. Aeroplanes available for "TIFS" are Piper J3 Cub, Trikes, Auto Gyros, Glider, Stearman Biplane and Yak 52 Warbird. This should be a very good event for our Club to attend. See you there. CASA Avsafety Seminar. HRFC Clubhouse. The HRFC clubhouse has again been selected to be the venue for CASA's Avsafety Seminar presentation. It is to be held on Tuesday 10th May starting at 6pm. The topic will be Operations at Non Towered Aerodromes followed by an open forum untill around 7.30. Tea or coffee and a light meal will be served afterwards. The seminar is free but bookings are required for catering. This will be a good Club activity and the cost of the event is subsidised by CASA. Please make an effort to attend.

Fly Away & Discover Victoria. Bendigo Airfield. Fly Away & Discover Victoria - there will be five day trips based out of Bendigo.
Bendigo is a Historical Gold town with numerous attractions to visit on the non flying days.
The pilots will be responsible for their own accommodation – there is no camping on the airfield.

The Aviation Museum will be open for business for the duration of the weekend to celebrate the Centenary of Powered Flight in Australia. CASA AvSafety Seminar 2009 - Website, HRFC Clubhouse. CASA is sponsoring a series of safety seminars nationaly in 2009. Our Club has been successful in attracting the Cessnock presentation to our clubhouse on July 8th. Issues for discussion could be Fuel Management, VFR into IMC, Situational Awareness, Runway Incursions, Operations in and around Controlled Airspace, Human Performance, Pilot Maintenance, Organisational Culture, Ops at Uncontrolled Airports, Responsibilities of POC, Controlled Flight into Terrain and Airmanship. This is a great opportunity for us to promote the Club at a regional level. Please give it your support . Seminar starts at 5.30 - 6.00pm and goes for about two and a half hours with general discussion and supper afterwards.

A Human Factors Course, which is a compulsory component of the RAA Flight Certificate will be presented by CFI Mr Keith McGeachie on Saturday 14th March starting at 8am. HRFC Monthly Daytrip - Wing&Wave Fly-in. Old Bar Heritage Airstrip. Note! This outing has been rescheduled from March to take advantage of an existing event planned for this date. Food and entertainment will be available on site if required. A 90nm flight to a grass strip (long). The town is only a 10 minute walk, but if you need fuel its about 5klms to the petrol station.
